Dr. Prashant Kumar

Assistant Professor

Dr. Prashant Kumar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT), Delhi. He received his Ph.D. and M.Tech. in Power Electronics and Drives from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. His doctoral thesis was conferred with the Best Ph.D. Research Award. He has held research positions at the Center for Energy Systems Research, Tennessee Tech University, USA, and Khalifa University, UAE. His current research interests include power-electronic converters, renewable energy systems, and advanced control strategies for electric motor drives

Dr. Mahajan Sagar Bhaskar

Mahajan Sagar Bhaskar (Fellow IETE, Senior Member IEEE, HKN IEEE) received the bachelor’s degree in electronics and telecommunication engineering from the University of Mumbai (MU), Mumbai, India , in 2011; a master’s degree in power electronics and drives from the Vellore Institute of Technology, VIT University, India , in 2014, and Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Johannesburg (UJ), South Africa in 2019. He is currently with the Renewable Energy Lab, College of Engineering, Prince Sultan University (PSU), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia . In 2019, he was a Post-Doctoral Researcher with the Department of Energy Technology, Aalborg University, Esbjerg, Denmark . From 2018 to 2019, he worked as a Research Assistant with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Qatar University, Doha,

Qatar . In Aug./Sept. 2017, he was a Research Student with the Power Quality Research Group, Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

He is Carbon Literate certified in 2023, UK and has authored/co-authored over 150 scientific papers, with most of his work focusing on DC/DC and DC/AC converters, high-gain converter topologies, and the XY converter family. He has received Best Research Paper Awards from IEEE, IET, and Springer – at IEEE-IES-(PETC) IECON’25, IEEE NPEC’25, IEEE-GPECOM’20, IEEE-CENCON’19, IEEE-ICCPCT’14, IET-CEAT’16, and ETAEERE’16 (Lecture Notes in Electrical Engineering, Springer). He also received the VIT University Alumni Excellence Award 2025 (Academic and Research Award Category). In addition, he is listed among the world’s top 2% scientists (single-year and career-long categories) by Stanford University, USA.

He is a Fellow of IETE, India ; a member of IEEE Eta Kappa Nu (HKN), USA ; and a Senior Member of IEEE, USA. Since 2025, he has been serving as the Chair of ODLP and as a member of the Education Committee of the IEEE Systems Council, USA . He is also a Senior Member of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, IEEE Power Electronics Society, IEEE Industry Applications Society, IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, and IEEE Vehicular Technology Society, as well as an member of various IEEE Councils, and Technical Communities and IEEE Young Professionals. He serves on the Editorial Board of IET Power Electronics, UK ; IET Journal of Engineering, UK ; and Springer’s Green Technology, Resilience, and Sustainability, USA . He received the Global Peer Review Award – listed among the top 1% of reviewers in Engineering by Web of Science. He also received the IEEE Access “Reviewer of the Month” award in January 2019 for his notable service and outstanding contributions as a reviewer.
